Last August 28, 2009, Bangko Kabayan was awarded as Most Outstanding Rural Bank in Calabarzon for the year 2008 in Landbank's 11th Outstanding CFI Awards Night held at the Diosdado Macapagal Hall of Landbank Plaza, Malate.

The award was handed over by Ms. Gilda E. Pico, President and CEO of Landbank, and Margarito B. Teves, Department of Finance Secretary and Landbank Chairman. It was received by BK President - Atty. Francis S. Ganzon, Managing Director - Teresa M. Ganzon, Executive Vice President - Liza V. Mercado, and Loans Manager - Enrico M. Arcillas. Bangko Kabayan was given the aforementioned award "for being one of Landbank's most effective and active partners in countryside credit delivery, thereby helping fasttrack progress for the benefit of its clients and the community it serves." The bank was also awarded as Best in Profitability for the year 2008.
