The Nagcarlan River Clean Up initiative aims to revive its cleanliness and promote its preservation. Talahibing River, originating from Mount Banahaw and traversing through Brgy. Alibungbungan is vital for irrigation, benefiting local farmers. Eager volunteers, including BK Nagcarlan Laguna Branch employees and Exec Personnel from CSRS, Credit, and HR, joined forces for the Bayani ng Kalikasan Project on January 28, 2024. Over 1,500 residents benefited from the cleanup efforts.
BK volunteers diligently sorted through trash, including plastics and cans, to restore the river's beauty. Collaborating with the barangay, BK provided signages to raise environmental awareness and cleaning materials for monthly river maintenance.
Despite challenges like heavy trash, slippery rocks, and strong currents, volunteers felt a deep sense of fulfillment, reminiscing about childhood memories in the river. The importance of unity within BK and community support, highlighting the project's positive impact beyond client relations.
